Edward Lear's
The Owl and the Pussycat

Drawn as if performed by an elementary school class....

I've long loved the whimsical Edward Lear poem, and having spent a decade in a children's theater company, the earnest world of a children's production is dear, as well.

It seemed only natural to put the two together to show what my illustrated version of the poem could be.

One thing I knew I wanted to include: steampunk aviator goggles to represent the owl's eyes, and cat's eye glasses and a fuzzy cat-ear headband for the pussycat.
